The Fifth Season Races has been a 4th of July tradition in Cedar Rapids for 35 years; the longest-running 8k road race in the United States. Which is why this decision came with such a heavy heart.  But with the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on our community, and following the lead of our city officials, the Fifth Season Races that were set to be run on July 4, 2020, have been cancelled.

With the goal of flattening the curve and social distancing guidelines being continued, this is the difficult but right step to ensure the safety of our immediate and surrounding communities.  We are already looking forward to making the 35th running of the Fifth Season Races on July 4, 2021 a top notch event for you to run, walk, and celebrate.
