We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding the status of the 2021 RUN CRANDIC race. After meeting with local public health officials, it has become clear that we cannot hold RUN CRANDIC this spring due to the pandemic.
From a logistical standpoint, RUN CRANDIC is our most challenging race to put on due to its size, length, and coordination with multiple municipalities within the Corridor. In light of this difficult decision, Corridor Running is focusing on identifying ways we can have a safe, in-person race weekend April 23-24, 2022.
We are working with local public health and safety officials on the details of what an in-person race will entail for April 2022. Although not the decision we all wanted to hear, as we’re all eagerly awaiting the re-emergence of in-person races, this decision was not made lightly. During the past several months, we have exhausted all avenues for safely putting on RUN CRANDIC in-person this spring.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have diligently worked with local and state agencies to ensure our actions are the most responsible ones we can take. We all find ourselves in uncharted territory, but nothing is more important to Corridor Running than the health and safety of our participants, volunteers, and our communities at large.
We look forward to the time when all of our communities can come together once again to celebrate the RUN CRANDIC race weekend. So until next year, although many races have been cancelled, including RUN CRANDIC, running has not been cancelled; so we hope you’re able to get out there and log some miles in preparation for RUN CRANDIC 2022.
