North Shore Distance Classic

The North Shore Distance Classic (formerly the Indian Summer Distance Classic) is a 13.1 and 4 mile race held on the North Shore of Lake Macbride in Solon, IA.

Trophies will be given for the 1st overall M/F in the 4 mile and Half Marathon. Medals will be awarded for the top 3 runners in the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 & 70+. All runners that complete the Half Marathon will receive a finishers award.

Packet Pickup & Parking

Packet pickup will be available race morning from 7:30 - 8:30 AM at Lake MacBride - MacBride Park - Main Lodge. Parking is sporadic in the park. Please respect the "No Parking" signage throughout the park.

Start Time | New Start/Finish Line

The 2024 race will start at 9am sharp. The start and finish will be at the Main Lodge.

Aid Stations, Course Details, & Sundries

There will be three aid stations on the Half Marathon course and one on the Four-Mile Course. Please bring a water bottle or reusable cup. We'll have some available but we encourage sustainability.

Four-Mile course: This year, we're doing a loop course. We will start near the Main Lodge, take the trail to the beach, run on the road for a stretch, and then take the North Snowmobile trail back to the start/finish area. Expect some decent hills!

Half-Marathon course: You'll do the 4-mile loop, then finish with an out-and-back on the crushed gravel trail (nice and flat).
