A Thanksgiving Tradition!
Join us for the annual Run Turkey Run, a 5-mile (or choose your distance!) run or walk through NE Cedar Rapids or virtually. This fun, flexible distance is perfect to pre-burn calories and enjoy an extra slice of pie!
Start Time: 8am
Details:
There is no fee to enter. We ask that participants donate toward Waypoint. You may donate online or bring cash/items to the event. If you choose to participate virtually, have a great run! Be sure to tag us on social media using #RunTurkeyRun2024.
Route:
If you want to run in with the group, arrive at the football field at E Ave. and 20th St. NE Cedar Rapids at 8:00am. The route will not be marked. Corridor Running members will kick off this unofficial fun run and cheer for you when you cross the finish line! Thank you to all participants for supporting Waypoint for this event. Gobble gobble!

5-Mile Route Directions
Start: Corner of E Ave. & 20th St NE
- Follow 20th St, which turns into Prairie Dr.
- Turn left on Mercy Dr. (Mt Mercy campus)
- Turn right on Mound Dr. (Mt. Mercy campus)
- Follow through Mt. Mercy campus to Elmhurst Dr.
- Turn right on Elmhurst Dr.
- Turn right on 27th St.
- Follow 27th St. to 1st Ave.
- Turn around and go back the way you came!
- 27th St. to Elmhurst Dr.
- Left on Elmhurst Dr.
- Left on Mound Drive (Mt. Mercy Campus)
- Left on Mercy Dr. (Mt. Mercy campus)
- Right on Prairie Dr., which turns into 20th St.
- 20th St. & E Ave., where you started :-)
Shortcut!
From Prairie Dr., don’t turn onto Mercy Dr. Continue until you get to 27th St.
Turn right on 27th St.
Oh Heavens, Another Shortcut!
CEMAR Trail. On 20th St., this goes between F Ave. & K Ave.
On 27th St., this goes between E Ave. & Franklin Ave.
